Camarillo

Camarillo is a city in Ventura County located south of the Santa Susana Mountains, east of the Santa Monica Mountains, and west of the Conejo Valley. The region consistently experiences warm and dry summers, as well as winters with an average rainfall of 13 inches. Camarillo is primarily a bedroom community made up of large housing tracts, with elementary schools and small strip malls serving the neighborhood (including the popular Camarillo outlets). When it comes to education, the primary high schools serving the city are Adolfo Camarillo High School, Rio Mesa High School, and Rancho Campana High School; all three schools are part of the Oxnard Union High School District. In addition, the city is home to one college, California State University Channel Islands. On another note, the local residents enjoy leisure time at the Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District, which includes 27 parks and over 300 acres of fun. The center hosts an array of sports leagues, including: baseball, basketball, football, and the largest AYSO soccer league west of the Mississippi.

Films such as Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, Iron Eagle, and Pearl Harbor were all partially shot in Camarillo.
